January 1991-August 1993At Bascom Palmer, I worked with Scott Cousins, M.D.. Our major area of interest was determining what makes the anterior chamber of the eye an immune privileged area. Cells and tissues can be implanted into the anterior chamber of the eye without the body rejecting them. We figured out some of the reasons and tried to apply this knowledge to other areas, such as averting tissue rejection after transplantation.
